ESPA at The Europe is one of Ireland's largest spa facilities at 50,000 sq ft. ESPA worked closely with architects Achim Gottstein and interior designers HBA London, to develop the concept and design of the five star spa. ESPA also managed all pre-opening stages, recruitment and training of the team and currently provide full operational support to ESPA at The Europe.

Viewed from the hotel, the spa appears as a series of grass covered horizontal planes within the landscape that seem to emerge from the garden and stretch toward the foreshore. The journey begins with the descent through a light-filled stair atrium, commencing a theme of transparency that moves through the landscape and into the subterranean environment below. Water is a major theme of the design that takes reference from the surrounding landscape and appears as waterfalls and streams, steam rooms, and Vitality Pools. Brighter areas within treatment rooms play with contrasting light. Here walls are washed with slivers of light where the ceilings come away from the walls, creating a changing scene throughout the day. The true heart of the building is the pool and relaxation area, a series of indoor and outdoor spaces looking onto the foreshore of the lake. In keeping with the connection to the landscape, we have brought the nature outside, into the spa.

ESPA worked with The Europe to create their signature treatment, ESPA Breathing Beauty Facial. This specialised experience includes therapist assisted relaxing breathing techniques. This cleanses the lymphatic system releasing toxins from the body to leave skin feeling radiant and revitalised.
