Kaolin
Kaolin, or China Clay, is essentially hydrated aluminium silicate and is a mined mineral. It is used for its absorbent properties and for its emollient feel on the skin. Kaolin is therefore often used in face masks because the white mass of powder is renowned for its highly absorbent properties helping to draw out excess oil and impurities.
